Physiotherapy is the branch of health care services delivered with the aim to maintain, to improve and/or to prevent movement dysfunctions. Physiotherapy uses exercises, soft tissue manipulations and electrotherapeutic modalities like electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and interferential therapy. Modalities like wax bath is also part of therapeutic approaches. Health education to improve the confidence and understanding the medical problem limiting the mobility is a major part of physiotherapy. Physiotherapist deals movement related problems due to musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary and other medical/ surgical conditions. Physiotherapist also play vital role in intensive care units to maintain the musculoskeletal and pulmonary status of the patients.
